The unexpected joy of solving problems

We started Xerophile because we love telling stories and everything that goes along with it — the opportunity to meet new people, to explore, craft narratives and bear witness to the fullness of human experience.

But one of the biggest and most unexpected joys of our work has been helping our clients solve their problems and reach their goals, whether that’s raising funds, inspiring action or connecting with new customers.

At the beginning of every project, we invest heavily in getting to know our clients. More than cameras and lenses and lights, we believe that our most important tools are our ability to ask questions, think critically and creatively, and center people in all that we do.

Long before we’re on set or in the field, we come to an understanding of what a particular project truly needs, and any approach we develop is built around that vision, in service of a specific, well-defined set of goals — the more specific the better. This helps us be good stewards of project resources and the trust our clients place in us.

Of course that also means more constraints. Sure, we’d love to make a film that follows your team across four continents, but does that serve your ultimate goal? If it does, fantastic. But if not, onward to the next idea, alas.

As it turns out, this approach is not only more cost-effective and impactful, it’s also pretty fun. Constraints have allowed us to be far more creative, courageous and collaborative and enabled us to harness the power of storytelling to elevate our clients’ mission, vision and goals.

As creative problem-solvers, we’re committed to marrying heartfelt storytelling with strategy to maximize impact. And no matter the project, we always find ways to sprinkle in a little poetry and play.

Get in touch if you’d like to explore potential collaborations. We’d love to get to know you.
